How it Started...
All my life, I've had some form of art medium in my hand. I spent most of my young life drawing in folders of copy paper packed away in my school bag. At 16, my art teacher bought a burner and a piece of wood and told me to have at it for a creative project.
That creative project won a superior rating at the VASE State competition. That first pyrography art piece started a fire I thought about for the next 8 years before picking up a burner tool again.
In the interim, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in College Station.
How It Came Back...
In 2019, I lost my mom to cancer, which put me through a period of my life without art or creativity. It took a tremendous amount of healing, but by 2022, I got some of my spark back again, literally. I picked up a burner tool again and began rekindling a lost love while still going through my own healing.
Pyrography has been a life line for me to look forward to the future, while still remembering the past.
With history, literature, and the macabre as my biggest inspirations, my childhood fascination with the human condition pours into my artwork in portraits, reimaginations, and artistic interpretations of some of mankind's greatest hits.
All of my original work is available for purchase through my shop, with periodic limited prints of some of my favorite work. After all, your artwork should be as unique as you are.
What's Next...
With only a self-paced art education after high school and a passion for learning, I am teaching myself a comprehensive syllabus of the classics, ranging from the Homeric epics to Victorian and 19th-century transformation. Each module will act as my muse as I study the text, art history, and philosophy of each period, which will pour into my artwork, coupled with a corresponding personal analysis of my inspiration.
Outside of immersing in various art museums and exhibits across the country in Houston, Washington DC, and Chicago, I have showcased my work with Pancakes & Booze and Houston Millennials' After Dark with the Arts Expo.
I am available for events, collaborations, and partnerships throughout the year.
